Should I see a doctor asap? I'm starting to feel really lousy, like all the blood's been drained from me (I used to be anemic, so I'm assuming that's the issue again).

( what's inside )
unknown ages from the time when God created the heavens and the earth
and then formed man and woman in his own image.
Several thousand years after the flood,
when God made the rainbow shine forth as a sign of the covenant.
Twenty-one centuries from the time of Abraham and Sarah;
thirteen centuries after Moses led the people of Israel out of Egypt.
Eleven hundred years from the time of Ruth and the Judges;
one thousand years from the anointing of David as king;
in the sixty-fifth week according to the prophecy of Daniel.
In the one hundred and ninety-fourth Olympiad;
the seven hundred and fifty-second year from the foundation of the city of Rome.
The forty-second year of the reign of Octavian Augustus;
the whole world being at peace,
Jesus Christ, eternal God and Son of the eternal Father,
desiring to sanctify the world by his most merciful coming,
being conceived by the Holy Spirit,
and nine months having passed since his conception,
was born in Bethlehem of Judea of the Virgin Mary.
Today is the nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ according to the flesh.
May the peace and blessings of Our Lord Jesus Christ with you this Christmas and always.
For unto us a child is born -- unto us a son is given.
The great gift we have from God of Himself is reason to rejoice. What wonder and mystery and grace! May the eyes of our understanding being enlightened, that we may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe -- according to the working of His might.
Merry Christmas to everyone!

Following is the second reading from the Office of the Readings for December 24. It is a portion of a Christmas sermon delivered by St. Augustine. Over the next few days I hope to post various bits of his Christmas sermons, as they typically represent some of his finest preaching. Enjoy!

Now I'm worried I got the wrong stuff!! Mainly it's the fleece I'm worried about, because *some* (and only a few, actually) sites say it's water proof or resistant, so will it not let the flow through to the cotton?? Also there's mention of it "beading"? I have yet to wash the fabric, but I was thinking that it might become more absorbent with more washes?? Please someone help me!! thanks :)

I know the skirt will be made out of chiffon for sure. But the top is kind of up in the air. I know I need something that will hold structure. And what about the strands. What material can I use to make them? They don't need to hold structure, but I was intending on tying knots in whatever fabric I choose to create the web effect.

I bought some boric acid for them- and in Vagina Pagina- it was suggested i pick up some cloth pads for when i use some boric acid.
So, I want to- but i have no idea where to start- can someone give me some advice on where i should start?
I'm a 24 year old female who has never been very athletic due to unrelated medical issues, but I did swim and be involved in poolside lifesaving for about 6 years - my weight, fitness and the kind of activities I do are not factors in my joint problems.
At the age of 12, like many girls that age do, I started to experience knee pain in both knees. Because it's a common problem for that age doctors told me to let it be and that they'd re-examine me if it hadn't gone away by the time I was 19.
It only got worse. By the time I was in my late teens my right knee would routinely partially slip out of the socket. Once or twice there was full dislocation requiring medical intervention and treatment. As a result I was sent to an a specialist surgeon. He told me he suspected the dislocations were being caused by one of the tendons in my knee (I really never had it well explained to me, he wasn't really a 'laymans terms' surgeon). He booked me in for an exploratory day surgery with a camera. The photos showed my cartilage around the edge of my patella was very soft (he actually dented it during surgery). He ended up performing a lateral release, where a problem tendon was cut. It was a success and I've never had an issue with dislocation since.
He determined that because the tendon had been 'twisting' my knee, the core muscles in my inner-thigh that hold the knee in place had never worked and had no muscle tone. Because there was no muscle to hold the knee in place, the joint was grating against itself. I was given exercises to strengthen those muscles and I have done them faithfully. Four years down the track my knees are more painful than ever.
The pain is a grating, throbbing one and sometimes my knees are so swollen you can't make out my kneecaps at all and the swelling is visible through clothes.
Unfortunately my orthopedic surgeon retired and I have had a hard time getting into another one. I have several months to wait before I'll see the new one, although I do have an appointment.
In the mean time I'd do anything to take the edge off the pain. Sometimes I can barely shuffle. Conventional painkillers and anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen/aspirin don't take down the swelling and paracetamol and codine don't take the pain. Creams like Deep Heat sometimes help temporarily. Is there anything else I can do to help relieve the pain?
Also, my orthopedic surgeon in our last appointment mentioned that I shouldn't be shocked if I need a knee replacement before I'm 30. Surely this is a vast over-exaggeration? The thought of this is really freaking me out. I just want something I can beat with physio and meds! Surely there are many other non-surgical (or even surgical) options to exhaust before a knee replacement is even considered. I'm only 24 and I don't do high-impact sports, I'm not overweight and I don't have osteoporosis!
I apologise if anything was too vague or not medical enough, I'm not sure exactly of all the terms involved and I didn't want to risk misnaming anything. I can try to explain more thoroughly if needed, I do have recent x-rays and photos from the exploratory surgery if that would help.

Yesterday the government announced that it will be slashing higher education budgets in the next few years. The minister suggested that to make up for it Universities should offer more two year intensive degrees instead of three or four year courses. This announcement sits in the wider context of the fact that the government and businesses are pushing Further and Higher Education establishments to produce students with 'business skills' instead of (or at least in addition to) the traditional curriculum.**
Two questions then: can intensive courses be a replacement for the traditional three year degree? And can we (should we?) produce students with 'business skills'?
*I shouldn't be allowed to listen to Radio 4 before I've had a cup of tea.
** For those in the US Further Education is 16-18ish and Higher Education is 19 onwards. HE provides bachelors degrees, masters degrees and the like. I've never quite figured out how that matches up to the US system.

Is it possible to have normal results and still suffer from hypoglycemia often enough to mess with your life? When I had the tests done, I was feeling fine. Would that matter? Is it at all possible this is still the issue? Mostly just asking because this seems to be the only obvious thing that fits, and if this absolutely isn't the problem, I don't even know where to go from here.
(The symptoms bothering me were mostly extremely low energy, nausea, dizziness, lightheadedness, disorientation, feeling like crying, extremely low energy, extremely excessive sleeping, total inability to concentrate most of the time, body temperature was completely ridiculous--would go from freezing to sweating I was so hot even though the temperature in the room never changed, and muscle twitches. These would last almost without any interruption for weeks at a time, and it's started to become a slight problem again.)
This morning after I got out of the shower I felt the feeling to pee so I went, but nothing came out. I'd already gone once as soon as I woke up. It's been an hour and that constant feeling of needing to go pee is still there. I've gone to the bathroom several time but there's either barely a few drop or nothing at all.
I'm just wondering if I should wait it out for a few days or go see my doctor right away?
I know this could be a sign of UTI as I've read about it before.
Though, I've never had a UTI before, no kind of infections ever, nor any STDs.
I recently (about 3 weeks ago) became sexually active again (after almost 2 years!). We both got checked and we're both clean, we use the condom and I've been taking the pill for the past 5 years (alesse).
I've never had this problem before so it's really bugging me.
Thanks a lot!
